The need to express myself this way first came to me in 2008, while I was busy revising for my university year-end exams. How bizarre and sudden was that? The inspiration came in waves, compelling me to stop whatever I was doing and start drawing.
Even now, when I look at some of my first works, I vividly remember how I felt and what was happening around me while creating each piece. After finishing a drawing, I needed to display them. I have an old photo, taken on my first iPhone, showing all of them lined up on the piano. There was something locked in those works that I needed to experience, so I looked at them every day. I kept them around me and continually added to my collection of this ‘weird’ art.
Back then, I had no idea what they were conveying or why I was creating them. The awareness only came in 2022 when I returned to drawing. Living in awareness and already supporting others, I was guided to make a drawing for a specific person. I was awakened by her name echoing in my mind. My first thought was, “She is organizing a sacred circle today—I need to join her.” But it was something else entirely. I missed the circle. In a sort of trance, with only her name in my mind, I created a drawing.
When I finished, I knew I had to give it to her. I sent her a photo of the artwork and said, “I made this one for you. You need to have it today.” The rest of the story, you can read on her blog here.
